best meatballs ever
In my humble opinion, these really are the best meatballs ever. Crispy on the outside, soft in the middle with killer flavor!
Spaghetti and meatballs is at the top of my favorite food list. In my attempt to try and eat healthy, I’d never want to deprive myself completely. By making some simple changes, I’m able to eat it without guilt.
I like to use brown rice noodles instead of traditional white noodles. Jovial is my favorite brand.
With sauces, I like to use brands with less sugar like Rao’s and Muir Glen. Regarding meatballs, I’ll make these which are made with meatloaf mix (beef, pork and veal combo). I’ll also make ones using turkey and chicken. I’ll post those recipes soon.
How to make the best meatballs
For the meat, I buy the “meatloaf mix” which is a combination of beef, pork and veal. I used to use only beef but when I tasted this combo it was game over!
Also, I’ll often use gluten-free breadcrumbs which work just as well as regular breadcrumbs if you can not have gluten.
Combine all ingredients but don’t over mix or the meatballs will be tough.
I either fry or broil these meatballs and when they’re finished, I leave them on the counter to cool. They start to disappear very quickly around here!
If you decide to broil them, place the meatballs on a broiler pan and put them on the top shelf of the oven. After 5 minutes, check them and if they are brown on top, rotate the meatballs to brown around all sides.
If you like this, try my skillet chicken with tomato basil ragu or easy zucchini shrimp scampi.
